On working out the details of the Station Yard in accordance with the preliminary reclamation scheme above referred to the Chief Resident Engineer found that it did not provide sufficient room for the terminal arrangements and after consultation with me submitted on the 1st June last to the Consulting Engineers the larger scheme, shown on the enclosed plan, in which it was proposed to carry the reclamation a further distance of about 1,000 feet until it abutted on Blackhead's Kowloon Marine Lot No. 81. The Consulting Engineers replying on the 5th July to Mr. Eves's submission stated that it proposed a reclamation of considerably greater magnitude than in the preliminary scheme they had already reported on
